DGCA REQUIREMENTS
CPL is a commercial pilot licence issued by DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation) to start your aviation career
AN INTRODUCTION TO THE DGCA EXAM
To be eligible for a Commercial Pilot License (CPL), a candidate must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent qualification with Mathematics and Physics. However, students from Arts and Commerce backgrounds can also pursue CPL by completing these two subjects through the NIOS board. The CPL examination is considered a tough nut to crack due to its high level of difficulty and technical nature. The course is designed to prepare candidates for a computer-based examination, focusing on both theoretical knowledge and practical aviation skills required to become a professional pilot.
To appear for the DGCA examinations, candidates are required to obtain a computer number, which is issued by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). This number is essential for registering and attempting the exams. Students who plan to complete their flight training in India must clear a total of five DGCA exams along with the RTR-A (Radio Telephony Restricted – Aeronautical) license. On the other hand, students who choose to complete their flight training abroad are required to clear only three DGCA exams along with RTR-A, as some subjects are already covered during their international training.

EXPERIENCE
(Not less than 200 hours of flight time)
- 100 HRS AS PIC
- 15 HRS MULTI-ENGINE
- SKILL TEST DAY & NIGHT
- OUT OF 40 HRS OF INSTRUMENT TIME 20 HRS COULD BE SIMULATOR
- 50 HRS SOLO CROSS COUNTRY
- 10 TAKE OFF AND LANDING BY NIGHT
- FLIGHT TEST 250 NM BY DAY AND 120 NM BY NIGHT

After clearing your Flying Training you need to demonstrate your flying expertises to an examiner designated by DGCA
